Over the weekend, we all got a little bit nostalgic as the cast from “The Smurfs” all stepped out to talk about about their adaptation of the hit cartoon — and also how some of them coped with the element of shooting live-action along with CGI movements.
For Neil Patrick Harris, he said that doing this sort of movie was overall a “fun” experience — though the animation did limit how much exactly he could move his body around. (It is especially unusual considering that Neil has done plenty of voice acting, and yet he was one of the live-action roles this time.)
Jayma Mays of “Glee,” meanwhile, was simply happy to have an opportunity to be married to Neil in any shape or form. (Neil actually guest-starred on the show in its first season as a member of the school board.)
As for some of the other stars of the film, we have everyone from legendary comedian Jonathan Winters (as Papa Smurf) to rising pop stars trying something new (in Katy Perry).
Are you excited to see this movie — or more angry about the fact that they have changed it so drastically from the cartoon?
