Piers Morgan questions Amy Winehouse’s family in interview (video)

Following what has happened with singer Amy Winehouse, a number of people in the industry have chosen to speak out about some of the potential reasons why she ended up losing her life at the age of 27. We know that drugs and alcohol caused the “Rehab” singer to struggle for years — and it those near Amy that CNN host Piers Morgan is now questioning for their inability to formulate proper support:

“The family seemed very dysfunctional to me. Yes she’s to blame for being the way she was to a large degree but I think a lot of people should be soul searching today about why they weren’t with her. How could a girl with that talent and that acclaim around the world die in an apartment, on her own apparently, with all those drugs inside her? To me, it doesn’t make any sense that something like that should happen.”

In the interview from “Entertainment Tonight” (which you can see below), Piers said that both Kelly and Sharon Osbourne (who works with Piers on “America’s Got Talent“) are “distraught” by the news of the death, as both of them knew Amy and were close to her at various points in her life.

A number of celebrities (including Kelly Osbourne) were on hand to tribute Kelly in the United Kingdom on Tuesday.
