‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Chord Overstreet hints at coming back

While Ryan Murphy has already said that the entire cast of series regulars for “Glee’s” third season would be coming back, there are still some major questions for some of the recurring characters — and this includes Chord Overstreet.
Out of all the actors playing McKinley High students, Chord has certainly had one of the more interesting journeys to the show. He was introduced as a recurring character in season 2, and was around for the entire year as athlete (and guitar mastermind) Sam Evans. However, he ended up leaving the show for a time in the summer after he was not named a series regular for season 3, and went on to work on recording an album before coming back in November 2011 and staying for the rest of the season. In explaining his late arrival, Sam spent some time working as a male go-go dancer in a club away from Lima, Ohio.
So where is Sam going to be for season 4? Speaking at the 2012 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday night, Overstreet suggested that he would be back in some capacity. While he doesn’t know anything about the stories coming up just yet, he reminded us that this will be Sam’s senior year — along with a few other characters including Blaine (Darren Criss), Artie (Kevin McHale), and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz).
Even though Overstreet does seem to be back, he’s not likely to appear in every episode. With Rachel’s adventures in New York being a primary story, the appearances by many of the actors at McKinley are going to be limited compared to what we have seen in the past. (Right now, the only likely regulars are Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and Cory Monteith.)
Are you happy that Chord seems so optimistic about Sam’s return?

Yay! Chord is returning. Sam Evans/Chord Overstreet is the only reason why I watch Glee. I love him to pieces.

I hope they don’t screw him up this time!! I want to see him atleast in a majority of episode next season, since a lot have graduated.. I want to see old familiar faces that we’ve learned to love. He’s a junior right? He’ll be just great together with the mix of people who are returning to lima next season.

I like Chord Overstreet and he plays Sam Evans pretty damn good. I think he’s the most interesting straight male character on Glee. He’s noble in every aspect except for the cheating part that is obviously stupid that happened this season. This character has a lot of potential with the homeless plot etc.. I think they need to revisit this storyline again. Also, im not watching if Sam is not gonna be there next season…

I just wanna know if he’s gonna be a regular or not? I think he seriously deserves it.

Firstly, it is not Glee’s 4th Season. It is their THIRD year. Some of the current participants in The Glee Project seem promising, and Ryan Murphy MUST choose more than one. Also, as a former high school school teacher who worked with students on musical productions, it’s about time Glee has performers who are least ALMOST high school age, and not apporaching 30!

I agree Glee is not well written anymore. They really need to give the male straight characters something else to do outside of being complete jerks.

Not really. Glee is a poorly-written show anymore and they’ve made Chord’s character into such a doughebag this season :(

If Sam doesn’t come back and he didn’t graduate I’ll be pissed off. he needs a proper goodbye if they are letting him go.
