Mrs. Carter: Age differences can really make all the difference when it comes to lasting love.
After being with a series of men (in Reggie Bush and Kris Humphries) over the course of the past several years, Kim Kardashian is now committed to Kanye West who is actually the more mature one of the two.
Based on what Kim is saying now to Oprah Winfrey in a clip from Sunday night’s new edition of “Oprah’s Next Chapter” (airing Sunday night at 8:00 p.m. Eastern on OWN), it’s pretty fair to say that the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star loves the benefits of being with somebody who is already pretty experienced about life and love:
“Before, all my boyfriends were younger. I always dated 5 years younger … Now I just love that I’m with someone that’s a couple years older than me.”
Kim and Kanye first officially started dating earlier this year, though they have known each other for quite some time. Kanye ironically appeared on an episode of “Kourtney and Kim Take New York” before she ended up dating Humphries, and around that time there were all sorts of tabloid-friendly rumors running amok that the two were seeing each other. The relationship with the New Jersey Nets star began around the end of the first season, and then continued on until October of last year when the two separated and Kim filed for divorce.
You can check out a new sneak peek of this interview on Oprah’s series below courtesy of Ryan Seacrest, and we will keep you up to date on Kim and Kanye as their romance progresses.
People can be pretty judgmental when it comes to age differences in a relationship, but we’ve found that it can actually be the thing that keeps a couple together for the long haul. The best relationships are the ones where people keep learning from one another and a significant difference in age can provide that factor for years to come.
