And she can’t fly without air because she can’t “generate thrust”? She doesn’t fly by flapping her arms (does she?) She’s not a jet engine (is she?) This part makes her promotion at the end almost believable. She’s hard working, dependable, dedicated, etc. Sorry but in my universe that doesn’t get you a promotion, even though it should. Instead, it means you get to keep your job.

Personally, I’m disappointed they decided to go ahead and pair her up with James. I wanted him to have no memory of the kiss and for Winn to still have a shot with her. Oh, well, maybe he’ll have a chance with Cat’s new assistant, whoever she turns out to be.

As for what’s in the pod, as NC76 noted, if we go according to the comics, Supergirl had a cat named Streaky so he could be in the pod, even though he wasn’t from Krypton. It could also be Krypto the superdog or Beppo the supermonkey, both of whom were from Krypton. There was also something called “Virus X” in the comics and the pod could contain it, possibly launched into space to get rid of it. (If you can send criminals into space, you can send diseases.) There was a robot teacher from Krypton in the comics who determined whether Superboy was fit to be a hero. It could be in the pod, waiting to pass similar judgment on Supergirl. There also could be something completely out of left field like Kara’s mom, who somehow escaped Krypton’s destruction. But my money is on Streaky, at least for now.
