Aaron Paul lines up post-‘Breaking Bad’ series on HBO

Paul (l.) is moving forward.

Breaking Bad” has made a star out of Emmy-winner Aaron Paul, and with the show currently filming its final 16 episodes, he is already getting some work set in stone for himself moving forward.

According to a new report of Deadline, Paul is set to star in an upcoming HBO drama pilot entitled “The Missionary,” which revolves mostly around a Cold War spy in the 1960s. Period dramas have played out well on cable, and with Paul’s presence it is possible that this show could eventually make a suitable companion for a “Boardwalk Empire” or fill a hole in the schedule left by the abrupt cancellation of “Luck” in the middle of season 2 production.

The first half of “Breaking Bad’s” 16-episode final season (or season 5A, if you will) is set to start airing on Sunday, July 15 — the second half will air in the summer of 2013.

After seeing him shine as Jesse, will you follow Aaron Paul anywhere at this point?
