In reply to Jim_Satterfield. That would've been perfect three seasons ago, now like many missed opportuinities, they are disappearing in the rearview mirror. W/H have set different paths for our favorite characters making the glory days unrecoverable. Unless ABC deems otherwise the end appears to be evident.The magic is no longer there.

In reply to Leo. Yep. That's my biggest gripe. It seems to be a problem endemic to current screenwriters. They apparently consider Adam Sandler films to be the height of sophisticated humor, right up there with Dumb and Dumber.

The fans know what this show should be. TOGETHER, CASKETT! 1/3 procedural,1/3 light comedic, and most importantly romance with Rick & Kate.

The show definitely needs to get away from long story lines like LokSat and Castle’s disappearance where essentially nothing happens for months or years. People do get bored in the waiting and leave. With LokSat going away ( though a cliff hanger has been mentioned that could be LokSat) they should get rid of Hayley and Vikram which would provide more time to showcase Caskett. Time spent on Alexis should be reduced some more possibly giving her the PI business and consultations with Caskett on rare occasions (could combine Alexis, Hayley and Vikram in the PI business as a spin off).

Yes, we want the best for Castle. The best would be to have it end on a high note leading into another season. It just can’t end right now for so many reasons. The current Showrunners made a bad decision and the fans have paid the price. We need to see Castle, the show, back with flying colors.

W/H don’t know how to write a sophisticated couple having an adult conversation, with adult humor. Everything they write deteriorates into animal house humor. To have Rick,Kate, Alexis and Martha sit around the dinning room table exchanging opinions on how to best solve a dangerous situation has probably never occured to them, although it’s what loyal fans would love to see. At this point the ship has sailed both on these writer and the series.

I so agree,they need to get back to what made them great and they need writers that can actually write for a married couple that also takes down bad guys.H & W do not have a clue they have fallen over their own feet when their foot was not in their mouth that is.They make things so much worse when they"explain". Loksat and disappearance needs to end for good this season,if there is a season nine it needs to start fresh and not carry over.

Great in theory, but never going to happen. Its become increasingly clear that there is no going back to more screen time – for whatever reason.
As far as the weekly cases, they need to replace the showrunners and writers. Get back to smart writing and not frat boy humor that we’ve been subjected to this season. These showrunners have admitted they dont know how to write for a couple in love, and have proven that this season. So much for the “bread and butter” Hawley talked about at the start of S8. He doesnt have a clue how to showcase them.
