‘Dancing with the Stars 22’ results preview: Mischa Barton, Geraldo Rivera, Doug Flutie in danger

Geraldo -

Tonight, “Dancing with the Stars” will likely eliminate their first contestant of the season, and this week more than any other is a little bit of a toss-up. While we definitely know how many of the Stars scored in their opening-week routines, we still don’t have an idea what their fan followings are. Some could surprise with the amount of viewer support that they have; meanwhile, some others could disappoint.

For the time being (and per our recent show rankings), here are the three Stars who could be sweating a little bit going into this show.

Misha Barton and Artem Chigvintsev – We don’t want Barton to go home. She has a lot still to give this season, and we really got the sense in the premiere that she wanted to be there and wanted to do well. She still has some upside. Our big concern is that viewers of “The OC” may not be the same sort of viewers who check out this show, and she may not be too familiar a name.

Geraldo Rivera and Edyta Sliwinska – If we’re judging this show based slowly on dancing alone, there’s almost no chance whatsoever that Geraldo should stay around. He was not a good dancer at all in his first routine! However, he is a well-known figure, and maybe that plus dancing with a pro making her first appearance on the show in years could help him.

Doug Flutie and Karina Smirnoff – There are three football stars on this season, and Flutie was the worst of the three. He’s also been retired for a little while. His scores weren’t great, and we wonder if he has the support out there needed. One thing that really hurts him is that voting is technically limited to people in the U.S., and Flutie was a big star in the Canadian Football League.
