Eleanor and Max were very true to character, imo. If you hate them for Vane’s death, you probably should have been hating them all along. Especially Eleanor. Vane will be missed; Zach McGowan was charismatic as hell in the role. And doing his own stunts really made his action scenes amazing. Don’t get me wrong; I am not happy with Vane’s death but I accept it as a compelling part of the story. This show is intended as a prequel of sorts to ‘Treasure Island’. Billy Bones, Captain Flint, John Silver, Ben Gunn, and presumably Madi (Silver’s wife?) ~ they’re the backbone of the story. I look forward to seeing how Teach, Anne, and Jack react to this. That is likely to be some compelling freaking TV. Does it suck to lose Vane? Yes. Is it going to drive the show forward in an interesting way? I don’t know but I certainly expect it to.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I would say l was gutted when l saw the two parts especially Vane. I can’t even Imagine it. You put it right. With due respect to the producers. They have left crap characters and shot down what l may term as part of the backbone of the story. Who is dying next…Flint…..grrrrrrr

One of the worst deaths on tv. I won’t be watching season 4 and I don’t see this show lasting much longer. With one action they destroyed 3 characters, Vane Eleanor and Max. Vane is dead and he was a fan favourite and now I hate Eleanor and Max. That’s half of the main cast destroyed by one mistake. I don’t liked Blackbeard trading him for Vane was a huge mistake. So disappointed in this show.
