Call The Midwife is very well positioned and established as a Sunday night drama on the BBC, very much like Heartbeat was on ITV for the best part of 18 years (running longer that the 1960s time period it was set). I’m not sure whether the series can or even would wish to sustain that length but I could say that series 10 or even 12 could be a possibility if it can maintain the quality of the writing and performance, maintiain the interest of the audience, and have stories they wish to tell.
