TV ratings: NBA Finals take bite out of ‘MasterChef,’ ‘America’s Got Talent’

America's got competition.

The NBA Finals are already showing that they are not the Stanley Cup Finals when it comes to the ratings — as a matter of fact, the small-market Oklahoma City Thunder team may even be drawing some better ratings than the Dallas Mavericks did against the Miami Heat last year.

ABC – Overall numbers for Game 1 of the series are not available, but expect the network to easily win the night in viewers and in the 18-49 demographic.

NBC – The Finals did clearly hurt the Peacock’s lineup, as “America’s Got Talent” dropped to its lowest Tuesday rating of the season in a  3.0. “American Ninja Warrior” also was seemingly hurt by the pre-game as it only posted a 1.6.  “Love in the Wild” actually held on to its 1.6 rating,

The CW – The only new program here was “The Catalina,” and it barely registered with a 0.2 rating.

Fox – With CBS in repeats, Fox was the only other network with new programming — and with basketball looming large, both “Hell’s Kitchen” and “MasterChef” fell from some stellar Monday numbers to score 2.1 ratings on the night.

What did you end up watching Tuesday?
