While we still are unsure whether or not the upcoming sixth season of “Private Practice” is indeed going to be the last for the series, we can at least say one thing for sure now — Kate Walsh is going to be done after the next 13-episode season airs.
Appearing in a new interview on Bethenny Frankel’s self-titled talk show (which premiered earlier this week), the actress explained that really, it was just the perfect time for her to move on — even if she was grateful for both the experience and the great memories:
“It’s been an incredible journey and an amazing ride … and I feel incredibly grateful to [series creator] Shonda Rhimes and all the fans that have been there from day one ’til now.”
When it comes to the recent announcement that Tim Daly will not even be returning for these final episodes, it apparently didn’t have anything at all to do with creative issues or a desire to do other things. Speaking in an interview with TV Guide, Rhimes explained that Daly’s exit was due primarily to problems with the show’s budget, but she was still happy with the way Pete’s story turned out.
All of Rhimes’ shows have taken a hit this summer — Chyler Leigh is off “Grey’s Anatomy” thanks to the death of Lexie, and it has already been confirmed that Henry Ian Cusick is leaving “Scandal.”
Do you think that Walsh could be making the wrong decision?
