‘American Idol’ notes: Scotty McCreery, Lauren Alaina, and James Durbin

Scotty has had quite a June.

For our second “American Idol” notes of the day, we are showing off some serious season 10 flair. After all, some of these contestants are still finding plenty of ways to fill up their schedules.

Scotty still gets nervous – There’s something endearing about the way in which Scotty McCreery chooses to be a star in his post-TV career. Namely, he chooses to not even act like a star at all. He still spends a great deal of time in his hometown of Garner, North Carolina, and he even brings his friends and family with him on the road.

So what is it like for him to perform at major concert events? Apparently, even that is an experience he is still not  completely accustomed to. Speaking to the Tennesseean in preparation for a performance at LP Field for CMA Fest in Nashville, Scotty claimed that he still gets more than a little bit anxiety-ridden before he takes the stage:

“If [this show is] anything like last year I’ll be nervous as all get out … I get on stage with Brad Paisley and there’s a few thousand out there for the opening act, but this will be pretty intense going out to a sold-out crowd at LP.”

Lauren Alaina vents – Meanwhile, Lauren Alaina is dealing with a bit of a different experience — and this one is more on the personal side. Early Tuesday morning, the “Georgia Peaches” singer took to Twitter to relentlessly bash who appears to be a former flame who has ended up with another woman:

“You need something. But that something ain’t me!! Did you really just refer to me as a celebrity girlfriend? #classy … And its a good thing you don’t need one Bc (in case you haven’t noticed by me ignoring you everytime you text or call) I’m done with you!(; … Sweetie. In case you haven’t learned by now you can’t believe a word he says. but go for it if ur dumb enough to believe him u deserve him(; … Ps: you won’t ever have to worry about him cheating on you with me I wouldn’t do that to someone. That must e the kinda girl you are.”

It’s easy to feel for Lauren (or anyone in this situation), and the real shocking thing to remember here is that she is only 17 – it’s a lot of drama to deal with when you’re a young woman trying to balance career with a personal life.

James Durbin’s new single is… – The same one he performed on “American Idol” earlier this year! “Higher Than Heaven” is going to be the song season 10’s resident rocker performs on the road, and James is going to be hitting the road to promote it at some of the following dates (per the show’s official website):
