Even though we are weeks away from actually learning about Damian McGinty’s fate on “Glee,” the actor (and former winner of “The Glee Project“) is doing his best to make it clear how badly he wants to stay on the show moving forward.
Speaking out in a new interview at a recent promotional event for the Oxygen reality show, the actor (who is now back in his native Northern Ireland enjoying a brief break from all the Hollywood action) at least did his best to make it clear how much he enjoys being a part of the McKinley High gang:
“The last 18 months have been the best time of my life, and I will accept whatever happens and I will move on or I would love to stay on the show.”
The “Glee” producers put themselves in an interesting position when it comes to Damian’s character Rory from their “Heart” episode onward. Even though they did not write him out of the show, they had him proclaim that his visa was not extended for another year. Could he have been lying just to get Sugar to go out with him? Definitely, but this open ending gives Ryan Murphy options when it comes to what he wants to do.
It’s hard to imagine that Damian’s fate will remain a secret leading up to the season 4 premiere, though, if for no other reason than that this sort of thing typically reveals itself during filming.
Do you want to see Damian’s Rory have a larger part moving forward?
