‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Carrie Underwood, and Kris Allen

Jessica's performing the album again!

We’re going to begin our Monday evening edition of “American Idol” notes with what is a pretty fantastic announcement — Jessica Sanchez is going to get more live TV exposure.

While it has not been confirmed, the recent contestant (and reigning runner-up) retweeted a message saying that she will be singing the National Anthem during game 1 of the NBA Finals in Oklahoma City on Tuesday night. This will mark her second major appearance singing the anthem in three days, as she recent performed at the controversial Manny Pacquiao boxing match over the weekend.

Now, let’s turn to what else is going on around the “American Idol” world.

Carrie’s video teaserCarrie Underwood has released a brand-new trailer for her upcoming music video to “Blown Away” — and it looks dramatic. With an abusive father, dark storms, and a very cinematic feel, this is far and away different than anything the season 4 winner has ever put out there.

Will the finished product work? It’s ultimately too early to say, but it is pretty easy to appreciate seeing her go into a completely different territory than what she has done in the past. The trailer for the video is great, and now we just have to hope it meets the same high standard.

Kris Allen’s next single will be… – The season 8 champ has been gigging all across America as of late to promote his new album “Thank You Camellia,” and with that have come a variety of new interviews.

In a new interview uploaded to YouTube, Kris proclaims that “My Weakness” and “Better With You” are the top candidates to become the next single after “The Vision of Love,” but he also says that “Rooftops” is a “wild card” to somehow work its way into the conversation.

As always, be sure to check back for more “American Idol” news!
