Two major studios who have had huge summer comedies out, Universal (Bridesmaids) and New Line (Horrible Bosses) have been in a massive bidding war over a comedy film pitch that would star Seth Rogen and Zac Efron.

Universal ended up winning and inked a deal with writers Andrew Cohen and Brendan O’Brien for seven figures.  Rogen who would also be producing the film is said to be making around $10 million.

The film is another frat house movie; because that’s what we really need is another ‘Old School, Van Wilder, Animal House movie.

It is said that the film will have the same feel as the film ‘Old School’, so we wouldn’t expect any PG rated fun.  Although most of the plot details are being kept secret they did tell us a bit about the movie;

“Rogen plays a regular guy who lives near an alpha male fraternity house. Efron is a member of the fraternity, whose raucous behavior wreaks havoc on the other guy’s family life.”

Not really sure how this film will fare if they don’t bring something new to the table with this frat house movie since it’s really been over done at this point, but with Seth Rogen behind it, he might be able to breathe some new life into an old story.
