While it may still be quite some time before we find out for certain what happened to singer Amy Winehouse on Saturday, we are at least getting our first hints that answers are at least somewhat on the horizon.
A spokesperson for Scotland Yard has confirmed that a pathological examination for the “Valerie” singer will be held at some point over the next 48 hours, and we may have more information about what caused her to pass away then:
“The postmortem has not been scheduled yet but it is unlikely to take place before tomorrow … tomorrow or even Monday is more likely in these circumstances.”
The news concerning Winehouse has spread like wildfire across the internet, with some people choosing to link it right away to an overdose. While there are some sources verifying that this is likely to be the case, officials are hesitating right now pending further testing to back the claims up.
Thanks to toxicology screening, it still could end up taking weeks before we know what truly happened to put so many fans of music into mourning.
