The CW is giving us another dose of its fall lineup a little bit early — specifically, we have two new trailers for some of their upcoming fall programming.
“Arrow“ – We’re still not sure about why we have to lose the “Green” part of the title, but the Stephen Amell-led superhero drama may be the most exciting pilot the network has had since “The Vampire Diaries” first came on the scene.
One of reasons that this pilot looks so great is that unlike “Smallville,” we are getting to see more of a superhero, and less of a teenage origin story. (It really just helps to differentiate one great show from the newcomer.) We’re also hoping that this will somehow be a way to bring in some more male viewers to a network that has marginalized itself with a females 18-34 group that is stretched too thin on TV already.
“Arrow” will launch on Wednesday nights in a block with “Supernatural.”
“Beauty and the Beast” – Meanwhile, we now have a show that could go either way as far as ratings go. Is the fairy-tale meme completely played out at this point? With “Once Upon a Time” already an established hit along with “Grimm,” we could see this having a tough time despite its name. However, it does have a great lead-in courtesy of “The Vampire Diaries,” and it does also have the talents of one Kristin Kreuk.
What CW show are you the most excited to see?
