‘The Vampire Diaries’ star Candice Accola lands new series gig

Even though Candice Accola is not leaving the “The Vampire Diaries” family anytime soon, she has still nonetheless found herself a new web series gig to film during what is effectively the offseason, so fans of her work still get a chance to see her perform while they wait for TVD to return.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is set to appear in the second season of Alloy Entertainment’s “Dating Rules From My Future Self” alongside “Modern Family” actor Reid Ewing. She will be playing the role of Chloe Cunningham, a 26-year old woman who seeks advice from a 36-year old version of herself. “Dating Rules From My Future Self” is one of the most-successful series of its kind to date on Hulu, and has also fared incredibly well on YouTube.

There is actually another interesting “Vampire Diaries” connection that you can throw in here in regards to the web show. Season 2 alum Taylor Kinney (otherwise known for his romantic entanglement with Lady Gaga) starred on the series last year, but he is now busy working on his new NBC show “Chicago Fire” alongside “House” alum Jesse Spencer.

Season 4 of Accola’s full-time job will start shooting in Atlanta later this summer, and “The Vampire Diaries” should return to TV in October.
