I doibt there’ll be any difference in the ratings. What you see now is it, I’m afraid fans have moved on. They went from live to dvr to checking out completely. What you have are the very hard core invested who will watch to the biter end. Not a bright out look.

The alternative that’s been overlooked is having then work the murder board together.Supposedly the Loksat investigation will end around ep 18. Which makes me wonder what they have planned for the conclusion of the series..
Maybe the writers finally noticed the ratings .

What they have wanted since the beginning of the season is Beckett working on screen with Castle to solve crimes. Foreplay is the crime solving process for Castle and Beckett. It’s been that way for the past 7 seasons. Obviously no one involved with writing season 8 has ever watched the show or they would have seen that.

Plus you will have the knowledge of whether “root” cases will work in a season 9.
