Even though the major networks may be through with their regularly-scheduled programming for the summer, there is still plenty of hilarity worth checking out courtesy of late-night. For evidence of this, check out three of the videos currently making the rounds on this Friday afternoon.
Carly Rae Jepsen on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” – If you have not heard the song “Call My Maybe” yet, you may be living under a rock. The infectious pop ditty is pretty much everywhere (and a personal favorite of ours), and the former “Canadian Idol” contestant is proving to have a rather great sense of humor about the track.
On “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” Thursday, Carly teamed up with Jimmy and house band The Roots to perform a version of her hit song using entirely classroom instruments. It’s beyond cute seeing how into this performance The Roots in particular are — in particular the one with the set of bongo drums.
President Obama on “Glee” – Yes, the following video of President Obama’s face stuck onto one of the Warblers is a little predictable — but this is also “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” that we are talking about here.
More than anything, what this performance really reminds us of is just how iconic this cover of “Teenage Dream” was to the show — and it remains among the five best musical moments in the show’s three-season history.
Bill Murray makes a hologram of himself – For those out there who just happen to be enormous Bill Murray fans (like we are), we could bearing good news — you may now be seeing double of the actor. In following the recent hologram craze started up by the return of a computerized Tupac Shakur to the stage, Murray created a hologram of himself and debuted in on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
It may be silly, but maybe the hologram will agree to do a third “Ghostbusters” movie if Murray really does not want to.
