Ratings: ‘Take Me Out,’ ‘The Choice’ off to slow start on Fox

It was not the best start.

While Fox probably did not have high hopes that “Take Me Out” or “The Choice” would suddenly erupt into ratings hits, they probably were at least hoping that at least one of these shows would fare a little better in its premiere.

Fox – Despite some promotion, “Take Me Out” only mustered 3.3 million viewers (pretty much repeat numbers for another show) along with a 1.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. We wrote that this show was actually really entertaining, so it’s a shame that it did not fare better. Meanwhile, “The Choice” — which was actually the weaker of the two shows despite its celebrity participants — fared better with a 1.7 rating and 4.2 million viewers.

NBC – The Peacock’s only new show on the night was the premiere of “Saving Hope,” which drew a 0.7 rating — which would get it canceled were it not a Canadian production airing in the summer. This rating was equaled by “Rock Center with Brian Williams” in its new time.

ABC – “Duets” continues to sink like a stone in the ocean, with it only drawing a 1.2 rating this week — a whopping drop of 20%. “Rookie Blue” has actually now passed it with its 1.3 number later in the night.

The CW – The only new show on the network was “Breaking Pointe,” and it scored a 0.2 for its hour-long episode.

Did you watch any of these shows Thursday?
