If Tim Poe is to leave “America’s Got Talent,” it’s possible that the producers behind the NBC show are going to let the voting public make that decision rather than just kicking him to the curb now over claims that he exaggerated his story about military service and that he submitted a photo of himself that was actually of another soldier.
Speaking to TMZ, judge Howie Mandel says that he thinks that Poe will be allowed to continue competing so long as he makes it through the Las Vegas rounds into the live shows — but if that happens, everyone voting will clearly have a negative opinion of him. Not only that, but he will have to deal with three judges that he was not completely honest with and an audience that may start booing him the moment that he comes out on stage.
If “AGT” producers decide to let him continue on in the competition (which they could do for the purposes of drama), we actually see it as pretty likely that Poe would drop out himself. Reports are that he and his family have been getting death threats, and why would you want to subject yourself to that for a competition that you know you are not going to be able to win at this point?
Do you think that producers are actually considering allowing Poe to continue on?
