The Hollywood Foreign Press are the world’s biggest kiss-asses. They are that type of people who impose themselves upon the popular crowd, pretending to like the things that the popular people like, hoping that they can be a part of the group. These nominations are further proof.

Can globes noms be bought and paid for ?

From a Jan. 10, 2015 NYPost article. How stars and studios bribe voters for golden globes:

“HFPA members are onto an extraordinarily good thing,” one movie executive tells The Post. “They know how valuable each of their votes is to a studio or individual star. That gives them an astonishing amount of leverage, and they get unprecedented access to big names.

“It’s such a contrast . . . some of these members live in tiny apartments and barely make rent, but their fridges are stocked with vintage Champagne.”

As Ricky Gervais, who hosted the awards in 2010, 2011 and 2012, put it: “The Golden Globes are to the Oscars what Kim Kardashian is to Kate Middleton: a bit louder, a bit trashier, a bit drunker and more easily bought.”

Crateors or whoever sends their entries have to send it before Oct 31, so that’s why leftovers didn’t get noms because mostly all the cool stuff happened in Nov/Dec.

Sam Heughan’s contributions to “Outlander” have been widely acclaimed in competitions based on popular votes, although he has yet to be recognized in competitions based on the endorsements of industry insiders. I am sure a dramatic artist of Sam Heughan’s caliber–and character–appreciates this distinction. As the English poet Tennyson said of fame, “Kind hearts are more than coronets.”

In my opinion Sam Heughan being snubbed once again is outrageous. Without Sam as the protagonist, Tobias would not have been nominated. Without Sam as the other half of the love story, Caitriona would not have been nominated. Sam is the catalyst that makes Tobias and Caitriona’s performances as good as they are. It is Sam who brings out the best in them and let’s face it, without Sam who would watch. He is a fantastic actor in a fantastic role. Beyond disappointed. I have never been as invested in a television show or television character as I have in this one and it is Sam Heughan that makes it all work.

So this was for The Leftovers season 2 right? This year was eligible? If so, the show getting blanked is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen awards show wise. You can justify certain categories I’m sure, but to have ZERO nominations is a complete joke. From season 1 to season 2 it was almost night and day, and I personally liked season 1 more than most.. But still, you have Regina King, Carrie Coon, Justin Theroux and the list goes on of terrific, top of their game performances. I love a lot of TV, but this bugs me the most. Atrocious.
