Ratings: ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ down; ‘Dogs in the City’ looks done

Nigel Lythgoe's show is easily #1.

We are definitely in a lull when it comes to the TV season, and there’s no better evidence for it then checking out some of the new numbers for Wednesday night’s lineup. Only two networks were airing anything when it comes to new content, and one of these shows may not be airing for long after the ratings dropped lower than any program they had on the schedule all of this past season.

FOX – “So You Think You Can Dance” was easily the top program of the night with a 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, but this was still down three-tenths from last week’s all-new episode. Based on what we are seeing now, the show is probably set to hover in the 2.2-2.8 range for most of the season, which should at least be enough to get it renewed for another year.

CBS – Meanwhile, “Dogs in the City” will be lucky to make it through its current run. A 0.9 rating is horrendous for CBS, and its repeats of other shows that aired later in the night even fared better. Somewhere, we’re better executives are praying for “Big Brother” to magically arrive sooner.

Are you starting to get bored with the pretty dry lineup on Wednesday nights? Outside of good dancing, there’s really not much else going on.
