For our Thursday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, we are starting things off with an update on Phillip Phillips’ condition — after some sources at first said that he may not have needed surgery, he finally opted to go under the knife, after all.
According to TMZ, Phillip underwent a procedure Wednesday that lasted six and a half hours — one where they removed kidney stones that were so big, he would have never been able to pass them on his own. He is still expected to recover in time for the show’s summer tour beginning in early July.
Adam talks his album and more – Just in case you haven’t had enough of Adam Lambert-related press for his new album “Trespassing,” Fuse has released a new video talking about the writing process, working with Pharrell Williams, and how he is still working on many of the songs for his upcoming summer mini-tour with Queen.
Nothing in Adam’s interview necessarily comes off as much of a surprise, mostly because we have heard so much about the “Trespassing” writing process before. On the subject of Queen, though, it is cool to hear Adam talk so much about his passion for understanding the intention of Freddie Mercury’s songs — especially in an age when so many artists opt to make some sort of blanket statement about not being able to connect to the music of others.
Kelly Clarkson covers Coldplay – Like Adam, Kelly is spending a good bit of time in London town at the moment doing some album promotion — and we have a pretty incredible performance to show just what she has been up to.
In an interview with BBC1 Radio, Kelly performed a song by one of the most-popular British bands out there in Coldplay, and considering that this song was “Princess of China,” it’s pretty impressive that she took on both the parts sung by Chris Martin as well as Rihanna.
