Despite getting some less-than-stellar ratings for some of their summer TV products, The CW is pushing forward with what has to be their most ambitious plan for the season in years — though it is to be seen if it will pay off.
On Wednesday, the network announced the following premiere dates for some anticipated (or much-anticipated, in the case of some) shows:
July 9 – After being pulled earlier this year, “Remodeled” will return at 9:00 p.m. Eastern to wrap up its first season.
July 17 – Want more of “The L.A. Complex”? Season 2 will start up in the same 9:00 time slot as season 1 (which is airing now). In case you’re wondering why the show is staying around despite low ratings, remember that it is a Canadian publication that the network is not even paying for.
August 15 – The new series “Oh Sit!” hosted by Jamie Kennedy and Jessi Cruickshank is set to premiere. Basically, combine a little bit of Musical Chairs with “Wipeout” — and a good bit of ridiculousness. Remember, it’s Jamie Kennedy, so if you were a fan of ‘The Jamie Kennedy Experiment’ then you’ll know what to expect.
August 16 – at 9:00, the new singing show “The Next: Fame Is at Your Doorstep” premieres. As previously reported, the mentors on this show include Joe Jonas, Nelly, and Gloria Estefan.
August 24 – “America’s Next Top Model” will officially kick off its move to Fridays with its college edition. It’s an interesting move to air this show before many colleges even start up classes, and throw in the fact that Tyra Banks has let go of ANTM favorites, Miss J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker and this could either be a big success or a huge disaster.
What part of this lineup are you more excited to see?
