It doesn’t seem to matter what season it is when it comes to the “Jersey Shore” cast — the rumors still manage to persist that the end could very well be near for Snooki, The Situation, and the rest of the current cast. (Remember the talk that some of the people were going to be replaced this time around? Not happening.)
In news that was first reported by In Touch Weekly, the cast have all been told that season 6 will be the last for the full group together. This does not mean that season 7 (which will surely happen considering the show’s continued popularity) is for sure going to happen, but what it does suggest is that at least one person will be out. The likely people in jeopardy are The Situation and Snooki, though really due to some of the recent developments in their personal lives — most notable in terms of a respective rehab stint and pregnancy.
We’re really still skeptical about the authenticity of this report for one reason — the current cast has proven time and time again not only how important they are for the shows success, but how influential they are when the season isn’t airing. Why commit to something before you even know how the upcoming season fares? Although ratings for the fifth season of the “Jersey Shore” were down pretty significantly versus the two seasons before it, it’s always possible that a pregnant Snooki (plus the show being off the air for a while) could get people excited about being it around again. While producers surely realize that many of the stars are indeed moving on with their lives, they would be rather reckless to make any commitments just yet.
Do you think that the entire cast will be around for a seventh season if the ratings recover?
