I love Dr. Who, so I made myself watch the new actor playing the Doctor and finally came to appreciate him and his acting. However, when you have the pairing of a boyfriend Doctor (Matt Smith) with the possibility of a romance between him and the character of Clara, and he regenerates into her grandfather overnight; it just can’t be anything but awkward. Sorry, it just was!

Wait! I remember that same face also participated in the storyline involving an alien invasion, where each country had to give up a percentage of their children, or they would destroy the planet! How can you forget a guy who goes home and shoots his whole family so he won’t have to turn the kids over to the aliens? I hated that episode and it was the main reason I was so against that actor playing the actual Dr. I dunno, it sorta made me see him in such a bad light; I hoped they would find someone else. I really liked Jenna Coleman and would have rather they found an actor who had better chemistry with her. The pairing seemed ackward after the brillant pairing of Coleman with Matt Smith.

In reply to Cliven. I thought that all of Clara's relationship with Danny Pink unnecessary and unproductive. His character wasn't needed at all.

I don’t think these two really meshed well. In addition the doctor they chose, the face of the Pompey leader who witnessed the apocalypse of it’s people… I had expected there to be a side story correlating to it through season nine….after watching the other seasons all having an additional side story tying everything together. Instead…each episode seems very random and there appears to be no such story. Somewhat of a twilight zone or xfiles series. I feel season nine isn’t quite as good as the others but do hope that they can find a character that fits this doctor better (though I think he was meant more for drama, than adventure) and pull something in to make me want to watch the series…not just the show.

Really couldn’t buy the logic of how she had to die and couldn’t have the counter removed. I mean, it was totally telegraphed how it was a bad idea for her to take it on, but very contrived that this reversible magic contract was allowed to be passed on but then irreversible.
