The “American Idol” notes have slowed down a bit now that we are more or less in the offseason for the show, but we do have a new collection of stories that includes both some new music and a jam courtesy of Casey Abrams.
Jessica to perform for Manny Pacquiao – Anyone in the Philippines knows that Pacquiao is one of the nation’s biggest stars, but Jessica (who is half Filipino) is quickly rising up the ranks. The boxer already seems to be a fan, and she is getting her first opportunity to perform in front of him this weekend.
In a new post on Twitter, here is what the reigning runner-up had to say about her upcoming gig:
“Singing the American National Anthem @ the Pacquiao fight this Saturday in Vegas! I am sooooooooo ecstatic!! :)”
Kris hits up “Access Hollywood” – We’re not sure whether or not the confusion about Kris Allen’s song title was intentional, but on the live version of the entertainment talk show this week to perform his new single “The Vision of Love.”
The performance was beautiful (as you would expect), but for some reason Billy Bush decided to follow this up by referring to Kris’ fellow guitarist Cale Mills as “Zorro” — which is of course the name of his dog.
New music from Casey Abrams – You’ve already heard “The Simple Life,” and now the season 10 alum has both it and another single available on iTunes from his Concord Records debut.
The new single is entitled “Get Out,” and you can hear the acoustic version of the song below from a few weeks ago. The studio version keeps the fun vibe intact, and also adds a few elements that could make it work on pop radio if it ever gets ample attention (which is going to be admittedly hard on some radio charts already stuffed with “Idol” contestants).
Be sure to pick up the song on iTunes!
As always, stay tuned for more “Idol” news!
