Adele has already shown that she knows how to dominate the album charts — and now, she’s doing the same exact thing when it comes to television ratings.
NBC – The Peacock won Sunday in adults 18-49, despite not having any one program that really managed to break out. Their special “Adele: Live in London” scored a 1.7 rating in the key demographic, and it was followed up by the Miss USA pageant — which despite falling versus last year’s ratings, still managed to score a 1.8.
ABC – In speaking about shows with declining ratings, “Secret Millionaire” fell from a 3.4 for its season 1 premiere all the way down to a 1.5 for season 2. What’s the reason for this? Blame the fact that season 1 premiered in-season rather than in June. While “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition” did premiere in the summer last year, its two-hour premiere ended up drawing a 1.5 — a much smaller number than when it aired after “The Bachelorette.”
The only new programs to air Sunday were “60 Minutes” and “Dateline NBC,” and they each posted a score of 1.4 and 0.9, respectively.
