You know it is a busy night on TV when you have one of the biggest beauty pageants in America competing against the “Game of Thrones” finale, NBA basketball, the MTV Movie Awards, and plenty of goodness over on AMC. If this does not define “something for everyone,” it’s hard to say what will.
So who is now Miss USA? That honor goes to 20-year old Miss Rhode Island Olivia Culpo. She was honored during the show by reigning Miss USA Alyssa Campanella, and will now progress on to one of the most-watched worldwide events of the year in the Miss Universe Pageant.
The title was handed down during NBC’s annual telecast of the event, which was co-hosted by Giuliana Rancic and Andy Cohen, who are each part of the NBCUniversal family. Some of the judges included Rob Kardashian, Joe Jonas, and three of Donald Trump’s former “Celebrity Apprentice” contestants in Marilu Henner, Arsenio Hall (who won this past season), and former Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza from Venezuela.
Are you happy that Olivia was the big winner?
