If you want to know one person who is for sure going to survive season 2 of “Game of Thrones,” you don’t have to look any further than Richard Madden. After spending most of season 2 preparing for a battle to take place, Robb Stark will be able to continue his quest moving forward to the show next year.
Within the pages of a new interview with the New York Post, it is suggestion that Madden is excited to start shooting the third season of the show later this year — and he is already looking forward to finding out just where the story ends up taking him:
“I’m excited to see where they take the characters … You never know what to expect as an actor on ‘Game of Thrones.’ There’s a lot of actors who nervously flip through the scripts as soon as they get them, just to check if they’re dead or not.”
While by and large the series has stayed faithful to the George R.R. Martin books, there is necessarily no guarantee that they will stay that way — and with the shock of Ned Stark’s death during season 1, it’s still understandable for just about everyone to be a little bit nervous.
Now that Robb has fallen in love and King’s Landing may be weak courtesy of the Battle of Blackwater, do you think that this could be the perfect time for Robb to enact his revenge?
