‘American Idol’ notes: Joshua Ledet, Adam Lambert, and Kris Allen

Do you love music? Let’s hope so, considering that we have a trio of “American Idol“-related videos for you to enjoy for Sunday.
Joshua Ledet covers Whitney Houston – We’ve heard Jessica Sanchez tackle “I Will Always Love You” on a number of occasions already in the past few weeks — but this weekend, it was third-place finisher Joshua Ledet’s turn to tackle the classic song while at a hometown event in Louisiana.
As expected, Joshua’s version of the song was much more gospel-oriented than Jessica’s, and he also had a rather interesting partner on stage in a towel over his arm. (It was apparently really hot outside, and it gave him instant relief pretty much anytime that he wanted it.)
Hear an unreleased Adam Lambert track – Want to hear a new unreleased track from Adam Lambert? “By the Rules” is a special edition to the Japanese version of “Trespassing,” and you can hear it below.
While the song is fun as a track on its own, it is also understandable why it was not included on the American version of the album — mostly because it doesn’t sound like anything else on the album. It is really a bit of a hybrid between Euro pop and something out of the Mediterranean.
Kris sings the National Anthem – “American Idol” contestants probably get more gigs to sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” than probably any other singer out there, and this weekend Kris Allen had the honor during Fox’s telecast of the NASCAR FedEx 400 race in Dover, Delaware.
Based on the audience reaction, he seemed to do a fine job with the song — even if he had to sing it against some F-16s that were flying overhead. Once again, there is a reason why “Idol” stars are asked to do the Anthem so much in comparison to the generic pop singers that are abundant in the music industry — these folks can actually sing.
As always, check back soon for more of the latest “Idol” news!

I liked Joshua a lot when he competed on AI this last season and I was disappointed that PP won the title. Another WGWG that makes 5 winners who fit the WGWG. I guess voters like it safe. Sad but true. Jessica or Joshua deserved the title. Anyway. Glad Kris sang the NA at Nascar. Adam is doing very well and we won’t have to worry about him remaining relevant. He’s already a world superstar i e #1 BB for TSP, performing with worlds best band Queen for 6 shows in Europe and sales are doing well in every country album has been released. #1 in Canada, US and Hungary so far. He’s almost ranking high in every other country.

Kris Allen: Best quote of the week, “again, there is a reason why “Idol” stars are asked to do the Anthem so much in comparison to the generic pop singers that are abundant in the music industry — these folks can actually sing.”, I fully agree with this quote & I love, love, love Kris Allen rendition of the national anthem. Amazing, powerful & heartfelt.
Adam Lambert: I love the unreleased track, by the rules, infact I find it the best of his trespassing album, I am sad it wasn’t released in the US, as a bonus track or whatever.
Joshua Ladet: is really a fantastic singer..I hope he can find a spot on today’s music industry which is stained with untalented pop hit makers who depends heavily on auto tunes & electric pop sounds. Same wishes for Kris & Adam, whom I hope remain relevant even if the music industry is a mediocre place, not fit for real artists.
