‘The Voice’ UK final results: Was Vince Kidd or Tyler James the winner?

Which coach came out on top?

After some performances and video packages, the end this season is finally here. The show structured itself in a rather interesting way — first, they announced the person in fourth place, and it followed that with one more set of songs from the remaining finalists.

With that … here we go!

Fourth place – Vince Kidd. We admit to be stunned by this for a number of reasons. First, we had picked Vince to win. He had a mentor who was popular with young people in Jessie J, and he also went last during the earlier portion of the performance show. Even with this, though, we stick by what we’ve said all season in that he has a better shot at being a pop star than anyone else on the show — regardless of who wins.

The final performances

Bo Bruce, “Charlie Brown” – It was another stunner from Bo, as she somehow made one of her best performances from the entire season even better. Even as a Coldplay fan, this may be the better version of the song — and we could listen to it for hours on end.

Leanne Mitchell, “Run To You” – Who would have thought that Leanne would have been here a month ago? She’s gained so much confidence so fast, and at this point she really doesn’t even sound like a contestant anymore.

Tyler James, “Higher Love” – It was the perfect song choice from Tyler here, mostly because it captured a little bit of everything he does — in between the falsetto in his voice and his magnetic (and fun!) presence on stage.

The result

After sitting through more filler (plus Adam Levine graciously telling the final three contestants to “not screw it up” even though they have already performed), we finally learned who was going to be coming out on top.

The winner of “The Voice” is … Leanne! With that, the underdog story is complete, and it is a stunning finish considering that no one really predicted her to even be in the finale.
