‘Desperate Housewives’ star, Emmy winner Kathryn Joosten dead at 72

Joosten has passed away.

Less than one month after the series finale of “Desperate Housewives” aired, we have some sad news to report.

Multiple sources have confirmed that Kathryn Joosten — who won Oustanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series Emmys in both 2005 and 2008 for her role as Mrs. McCluskey — passed away Friday night of lung cancer in Westlake Village, California. She was 72 years old.

In addition to this role, Joosted appeared in countless other TV series over her 30-year career in show business, including “Dharma & Greg,” “Scrubs,” and “The West Wing” (where she had her most prominent role before signing on to be one of the residents of Wisteria Lane). She was surrounded by close friends and family at the time of her passing.

Thoughts go out to Joosten’s close friends and family during this difficult time.
