We may still be two days away from the 2012 MTV Movie Awards, but the network is already starting to flip the lid on some of the achievement awards that they are planning to hand out during the ceremony.
On Friday, MTV announced that Johnny Depp is going to be the recipient of the MTV Generation Award, which is to signify the magnificent contributions that he has had on the film industry over the course of his career. Depp’s biggest hits have obviously come via the “Pirates of the Caribbean” trilogy, but he has also taken on roles in “Alice in Wonderland,” “Finding Neverland,” “Sweeney Todd,” and most recently “Dark Shadows.”
Meanwhile, one of Hollywood’s young stars in Emma Stone is going to be honored with the Trailblazer Award, which helps to show her status as someone who is making a difference in the film industry despite still being a young presence. Emma first made a name for herself on “Superbad,” but later broke out with “Easy A” before going on to star in “The Help” and the upcoming “The Amazing Spider-Man.”
Check back all weekend, as we will have more announcements and news related to the show.
