‘American Idol’ notes: Joahua Ledet, David Archuleta, and David Cook

Joshua is speaking out.

For our Friday edition of “American Idol” notes, we’re touch on a few more stories — including a new video from David Archuleta recorded before the start of his Mormon mission.

But first, we kick things off with Joshua Ledet’s interview on “Good Day NY” this week. Like with Jessica Sanchez’s recent interview on the show, there wasn’t really much in the way of questions here that we haven’t really heard already at some point. The only thing that was so surprising was how the host made the morning show’s yellow coach out to be the equivalent of sitting in front of Barbara Walters on Larry King.

A new video from David – While David Archuleta is going to be gone for still almost two years thanks to his mission, he has still come up with a rather unique way to reach out to some of his fans via videos.

The season 7 runner-up actually recorded this message back when he was in the Philippines, but it was left specifically to go up while he was away so that his fans would have something to watch. In the clip, he opens up about his anxiety over being away and what he hopes to accomplish.

David Cook heads to Asia – Speaking of season 7, we now know for sure about another David who is going to be in the Philippines soon.

As of right now, David Cook has scheduled the three following dates for performances in the Pacific island region (at least per a new post on Twitter):

July 14 – Manilla, Philippines
July 15 – Cebu, Philippines
July 17 – Jakarta, Indonesia

It’s unclear if he will debut any new music while overseas, but it always is fascinating to see how passionate fans in the Philippines are about “American Idol” artists.

As always, stay tuned for more of the latest “Idol” news!
