‘American Idol’ notes: Scotty McCreery, Joshua Ledet, and Jessica Sanchez

You will see Scotty again soon.

While we are still very much in the thick of the post-show promotional tour for “American Idol” season 11, we are going to start things off first and foremost by talking about the season 10 champ in Scotty McCreery.

In a press release Thursday, CMT announced that Scotty will be joined by such former “Idols” as Lauren Alaina and Casey James on the Nationwide Insurance stage. These performances will be a major fixture of the 2012 CMT Awards show, which is going to air in full on Wednesday, June 6 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time.

There’s no word yet on what Scotty will be singing, but isn’t a little bit of airtime better than no airtime at all?

Joshua Ledet meets … Michelle Obama? – After finishing in third place, Joshua Ledet has already managed to have an opportunity to do something rather incredible — meet the First Lady of the United States.

Speaking to ABC News Radio after an appearances on “Live! with Kelly” this week, Joshua said that he met up with Michelle Obama (who was taping a future show) backstage, and she had some rather kind words for him:

“She asked to see me ’cause she heard I was on the show, and then I was freaking out when she walked in … She just embraced me and just gave me lots of hugs and told me that I was the reason she watched American Idol.”

Jessica Sanchez on “Today” – We have yet another Jessica Sanchez video now to share, with it coming this time courtesy of her performance of “I Will Always Love You” on “The Today Show.” While we wish Jessica was getting an opportunity to sing one of her upbeat songs from the season during this tour, her voice is still completely out of this world.

Be sure to check out the performance below (with credit to Mjsbigblog for posting it).
