‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ star Honey Boo Boo lands spin-off show

It's happening.

That sound you are hearing is either one of two things — the Apocalypse, or a six-year old girl screaming in delight.

Despite the fact that she is one of the most controversial contestants in the history of “Toddlers & Tiaras,” TLC has decided to give Alana (otherwise known as the “Honey Boo Boo” child) her own six-episode series about her pageant life, which is set to premiere in August. The hyperactive child will be joined on the show by her older siblings, who also have their own set of nicknames — 12-year old Lauryn (“Pumpkin”), 15-year old Jessica (who may have the most terrible nickname of all time in “Chubbs”), and 17-year old Anna (“Chickadee”), who is also pregnant.

While there may be plenty of people upset about the fact that a child best known for drinking a cocktail with Mountain Dew in it has her own reality show, such is the way of reality TV right now. Considering that “Tiaras” is one of TLC’s biggest go-to series, it only made sense from a business standpoint to give this show a shot. After all, six episodes is a small enough commitment that they can back away if things do not end up going according to plan.

Just in case you haven’t seen Alana before, you can below — which also includes some “Extreme Couponing” for good measure when it comes to her mom’s money-saving lifestyle.
