Even if the reaction to Lexie’s heartbreaking death on “Grey’s Anatomy” is still sending reverberations through most of the show’s fan community, the creator and showrunner is sticking with some of her earlier claims that some other people involved in the plane crash during the season 8 finale may not be around for season 9.
Speaking to TV Guide, Shonda Rhimes echoed recently what she has said in the few other interviews she has participated in season the show ended — death could come a-knocking again:
“Just because you saw people alive at the end of the finale doesn’t mean they’re going to be alive when the season starts up.”
Is it too early to theorize? Possibly, but we are still going with the same assessment that we gave this situation last week — since Jessica Capshaw and Eric Dane were not a part of the recent two-season contract signing announced in the past month, these two seem to be the ones in the greatest amount of danger. (This also makes sense considering that Mark was clinging to his life in the closing minutes of the finale, and with Lexie gone his spirit also appears to be broken.)
If “Grey’s” kills off another member of Seattle Grace, are you going to be more or less angry than you were about Lexie’s departure?
