Ratings: ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ rises; ‘Dogs in the City’ premiere weak

The show fared slightly better.

With the summer TV season now officially under way, there were at least a few new shows on Wednesday night — however, the news in the ratings was not exactly good for all of them.

Fox – Following a premiere that already had fans concerned, “So You Think You Can Dance” thankfully rose this time around to a 2.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Hopefully, the show will stay around this number all season — and if it does, we’re sure to see more dancing moving forward.

CBS – The only new program for The Eye was the show “Dogs in the City,” and despite having a decent viewership that rivaled the 6.97 million of “SYTYCD,” it only drew a 1.3 rating for its premiere. In other words, don’t expect to see any more “Dogs” beyond this summer if the trend keeps up.

The CW – With ABC in repeats and NBC getting low numbers for the Stanley Cup Finals, the finale for “America’s Next Top Model” rose slightly from some recent basement ratings to finish with a 0.6 rating and 1.37 million viewers. Is this still good enough to justify the show coming back? We don’t really think so.
