I think there will probably be Shamy engagement this season too, but I really want to see Sheldon work to get Amy back. I want to see Amy gain more confidence in herself like she has been the past few seasons. She realizes that her needs matter too and she deserves respect.

Also, I think that Shamy will be engaged by the end of this season. A wedding will happen at the series end, either next season or season 11. I agree that in real life Sheldon and Amy would be done. Sheldon wouldn’t even have a girlfriend in real life. However,viewers love this couple probably more than Lenny, and the writers have spent much time crafting this wonderfully unique relationship. It will take some work on mostly Sheldon’s part, but Shamy will rise up from the ashes. They need to talk about what caused the breakup. Maybe a heart to heart chat with professor proton.
