‘The Bachelorette’ host thought Emily Maynard, Brad Womack ‘would work’

Emily and Brad tried to make it work.

While there’s no doubting that Chris Harrison is obviously very pleased to have Emily Maynard on board as “The Bachelorette,” he is also making a rather rare admission his part — he genuinely felt at the end of her first appearance on “The Bachelor” that she and then-star Brad Womack were actually going to be one of the few couples from the show to actually go the distance.

Speaking on the subject of his favorite couples in a new interview with The Huffington Post, Harrison was really rather quick to open up about the ex-couple:

“I felt like the two of them were meant to be and it was gonna work. When they broke up, I was really sad.”

Brad recently said in an interview of his own that while he wished Emily the best and thought she was a great woman.  He went on to say that he felt like he “dodged a bullet” by not staying in a relationship that he was not prepared to handle. Brad has gone on few dates since then, and is also not currently watching Emily’s journey this time around (which we understand would probably be difficult if he decided to do it).

After there have been so few couples to actually make it to the altar thanks to the show, are you always skeptical about whether or not anyone will stay together?
