Now that magic has found a way to creep back into the “Once Upon a Time” town of Storybrooke, is Regina going to use it for evil rather than good? While it may be assumed, it is also not guaranteed considering that the Evil Queen was just starting to show her human side when it came to her attachment to Henry — a boy who understandably found it hard to give her a chance considering that she put everyone under a curse.
You can sense this indecision in actress Lana Parrilla’s new interview with TVLine when asked about how she plans on using the power that Mr. Gold / Rumpelstiltskin unleashed into the town during the season 1 finale:
“She seems somewhat conflicted …She’s going through this huge loss with her son [Henry], and yet now there is hope. If she needs magic to get her son back, then so be it.”
At the end of the day, we do still have quite a stretch of time to speculate here in regards to what Regina and Mr. Gold are going to do with their rediscovered power. “Once” will not return for season 2 until the fall at the earliest, and may end up premiering in October if ABC wants to reduce the amount of repeats that air between new episodes (which is what they did last season to get people into the show).
Do you like seeing Regina act from a place of pure evil, or do you think it far more effective to see her conflicted when it comes to crushing Emma while still caring about her adopted son?
