Ratings: ‘America’s Got Talent’ surges; ‘The Catalina’ helps ‘L.A. Complex’

#1 by a mile.

There wasn’t too much in the way of new programming on TV Tuesday night, and the fact that it was no longer Memorial Day seemed to help “America’s Got Talent” reach some of its best ratings of the season.

NBC – “AGT” won the night with an impressive 3.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic that the network should be happy with if it lasts for the full season. It also seemed to help a “Grimm” repeat score a 1.3 — a rating pretty close to what new episodes typically draw.

ABC – The season finale of “Cougar Town” (and the last episode to air on the network) scored a 1.2 rating, and a “20/20” special highlighting the Diamond Jubilee scored a 1.3 over its two hours.

The CW – The only other network to air new programming on the night (outside of a “48 Hours” special that brought in a 1.4 for CBS), “The Catalina” barely registered with a 0.3 rating. (At the same time, ti’s not like repeats of old shows would have fared any better here.) “The L.A. Complex” seemingly benefited from the lead-in, and rose to a 0.3 of its own.

What did you end up watching Tuesday night?
