‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Jessica Sanchez, and Skylar Laine

The promo tour continues.

For our Wednesday morning edition of “American Idol” notes, we have all sorts of goodness coming your way — especially if you are a fan of watching all sorts of video content related to Adam Lambert.

Adam’s Canadian interviews – As a means of further promoting “Trespassing,” Adam has spent a good part of this week so far in Toronto making the stops at various programs. You can check out a pair of interviews below — one with “The Marilyn Denis Show” on CTV (where he talks about writing the album and finding success post-“Idol”) and also the entertainment magazine “eTalk” (which is basically the Canadian version of “Extra” or “Access Hollywood.”

Both interviews are nice ways to start up your day, and we’ll getting plenty more where in this vein soon as Adam prepares to promote “Trespassing” in the UK next week.

Jessica continues to talk “Change Nothing” – Jessica Sanchez, like Adam before her, is embracing the role of runner-up with hopes that she will have a huge music career moving forward. She’s already overcoming quite a bit in even making it this far — including being saddled with what might be one of the worst coronation songs ever in “Change Nothing.”

The good news (at least when it comes to her musical taste) is that Jessica realizes that the song is genuinely pretty terrible — and she explained that in a new interview with MTV News:

“It was confusing, because it was the winning song, and you try to pick a song that you’d want to put out as a single but also that would sound good when you won the competition. … I felt like I had to sing a vocally strong song but also one that was kind of mainstream, and that was in the middle, kind of … And even listening to it, I was telling them, ‘Some things have to be changed in this, because this is not completely me.’ And when we did that, nothing was really that changed, and that’s why it came out like a pop single. I totally agree with Randy [Jackson]: That song was not me at all. I want to do pop, but, like, just asprinkle of it, not a whole bucket.”

The good news for Jessica is that she’ll have time with an album to find some music that shows off her enormous talent better — after all, she had plenty of other performances throughout the season where she shined.

Skylar Laine already collaborating – While another season 11 castoff in Skylar has yet to sign a record deal, it already looks like she is preparing quite fantastically for a career in country music.

In a post on Twitter, Skylar confirmed that she is now in Nashville working with some pretty great writers and producers in the industry:

“Writin’ with @lukerobert and Hillary Lindsey at the moment!!! Goin’ AWESOME!!!”

We don’t know what’s going to come out of this yet — but stay tuned, as we’ll let you know as soon as more information is available.

As always, check back soon for more “Idol” news!
