Who’s the newest person interested in joining the All-Stars version of “Dancing with the Stars” this fall? Let’s just say that this is someone who may actualyl have a legitimate argument for wanting to dive back into the ballroom.
In a post on her Facebook page, Olympic volleyball star Misty May-Treanor (who was unable to finish her run for the Mirrorball Trophy the first time around due to injury) made a list of reasons why she is the perfect candidate to come back to the show:
“1. I would love to finish what I wasn’t able to when I was on the show the last time
2. I wasn’t voted off
3. I would love for my husband to see me dance and compete
4. I want to perform for my fans!”
Unfortunately, there’s no word at the moment about whether or no “Dancing” producers are interested in bringing back Misty for another go. One potential problem here may simply be that Maskim Chmerkovskiy has had a number of popular partners over the years (Mel B, Erin Andrews, Kirstie Alley), and she may have trouble getting on if the show wants stars who danced with their original partner. However, couldn’t you make an exception here? It’s always nice to have athletes on the show to mix up the cast, and if producers were intent on putting Maks with one of the other ladies above, his brother Val would be available (at least so long as Sherri Shepherd isn’t asked back).
Do you think that Misty has a pretty good argument here, or does the rich history of strong female dancers on the show who are perhaps more memorable put her in trouble?
