Prince Harry, William talks Queen Elizabeth II and more to Katie Couric

The special airs Tuesday night.

In commemoration of the Queen’s 60th year on the throne (and the upcoming Diamond Jubilee), Katie Couric has scored something incredibly rare for an ABC News special on Tuesday night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern — interviews with two of the most famous royals in the world.

In the video at the bottom of this article, you can see both Prince Harry as well as Prince William talk a bit about Elizabeth II, and some of what they have learned about her and her duties over the course of their lives. When it comes to Harry, he admits that he did not completely understand the full notion of her Royal duty until he was entering his teenage years — and only recently did he start to undertake some of her travel commitments that force her to meet people from all around the world.

Meanwhile, Prince William opened up in the special about how one of his biggest regrets is that his mother Princess Diana never had an opportunity to meet the newly-appointed Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton — who has drawn man comparisons to Diana due to the way in which she has won over the people:

“I think she … she would have loved the day and I think, hopefully, she’d be very proud. I’m just very sad that she’s never going to get a chance to meet Kate.”
