On Monday, June 18 at 10:00 p.m. EST, ABC is set to go where only CBS has gone before — to the world of watching people try and handle living in a tiny house with each other while America watches on. “The Glass House” has drawn so many comparisons to “Big Brother” that CBS has even filed a suit — but away from the legal implications, the question still remains as to whether or not this show is any good.
Despite the premise having some basic similarities, there are still a number of key differences between the two shows — the primary one being that “Glass House” actually feels more like “Big Brother” season 1 than the current version of the show in that America votes on who gets sent out of the house. However, there are even some differences there — “Glass House” contestants will be divided into separate teams, and then compete in various challenges. The losing team will ultimately have two people “in limbo” (this show’s version of being up for eviction) — the captain of the losing team and one other person who is voted on by the contestants.
America will control a good bit of everything else that happens in the game, as well — from what the contestants wear to what they eat to even where they sleep. There are also some live feeds that will be free to watch (like “Big Brother”), but will also only run four days a week at select times (Mondays from 8pm-12am PST; Tuesdays-Thursdays at 12pm PST).
You can check out the first trailer for the show below. Despite some of the similarities here, do you think that the world could really be better with two reality shows of this nature?
